You may experience mild side effects after your first few doses including gastrointestinal upset, nausea, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, or dizziness. Your provider will be in contact with you weekly as needed to ensure your dosing is correct and to help manage any side effects you may experience. Your dosing will increase monthly if you are tolerating the dosing, which is further explained in your consult and education. You will be periodically visiting our office to monitor your body composition as you continue on Semaglutide.
Semaglutide is for individuals who are looking for a medical way to manage their weight. You must be in good health, have recent lab work done, and have a BMI of 27 or above. If you have a BMI less than 27, you may still be considered for Semaglutide – this will be determined in your initial consultation. For Semaglutide to be fully beneficial, a healthy diet is necessary, as well as regular exercise. We recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise daily and/or taking 10,000 steps a day. If you are not able to commit to a healthier lifestyle, you may want to reconsider if this is a safe or viable option for you.
